4 Months Old

Wow, does time really fly or what?!? Our beautiful babies are now 4 and a half months old! They are absolutely ADORABLE and most important as healthy as can be :) Axton is weighing 19 lbs and measuring 26 inches and Adelyn is 16.5 lbs and measuring 25 inches. We have had NO problems gaining weight, as I am still ONLY nursing these babes! I am soooo thrilled that I have been able to supply enough for the both of them, as it is so healthy. They eat at the same time every time and are taking naps in the morning and afternoon. Sometimes they take turns napping, which is fine. I get some one on one time with them :)

Axton first rolled over at 7 weeks old...yes you heard that correct! Adelyn just rolled over at 3.5 months. Now she is rolling over all the time. Axton has yet to roll over since then....I think he might be a little heavy now, hehe! We just put a jumper together and Axton is having a great time jumping. He gets himself going so fast, almost out of control...too funny! Adelyn needs to grow another inch and she will be set, not too crazy about the jumper.
We have been SUPER blessed with these little Kiddo's sleeping. Ever since 2 months old, they started sleeping 7-8 hours. We would get random 9-10 hours here and there. At about 3.5 months they started sleeping more 9-11 hours. They are doing AMAZING and it gives Grant and I time together at night since we put them to bed between 8-9. I guess I could go on bragging about them forever...haha, they are truly great babies!

It is hard to believe that our babies are coming upon 5 months. I just looked back through all my pictures since they have been born...unreal how fast they grow! I have LOVED every stage of being a mommy. It is really getting exciting to see them smile, laugh and coo at both Grant and I. This is the stage Grant has been looking forward to. They can respond and they know who we are. How amazing little infants are and how quickly they learn. God has created two miracles and has blessed us with these innocent little lives that we are so excited to raise and teach as best as we can.

I thank God everyday for his blessings and how amazing he is to us. I pray that he continues to keep our children healthy and help them to grow stronger and stronger everyday. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts about us. I WILL update this baby more often. Enjoy the pictures and much love is sent your way :)

BABIES

Wow, what an AMAZING experience for both Grant and myself. God most certainly blessed us with 2 healthy miracles and we could not be more thankful for all the thoughts and prayers that were sent to us.

The journey started when both Grant and I were laying in bed awake at 2 am Friday June 19th due to a horrible thunderstorm that was slamming Holland. As I just fell back a sleep around 3 am there was a huge bolt of lightening and quite the bang of thunder that jolted me. I must say that is when my water broke...at least that's what I thought it must have been! It seemed like a balloon popped or I just received a swift kick from one of the little ones :) Sure enough I stood up and went to the bathroom to go potty...there was still a trickle after done. I told Grant, I think my water broke...sure enough we were grabbing bags and on our way to the hospital. I wasn't really having any contractions yet. Grant was really nervous driving a little fast...the rain was so heavy and huge puddles were on the road. I told him to slow down, I am just fine :)

We got to the hospital and up to OB we went. The nurse checked me and I was 5 cm and she could feel the head. We were heading in the right direction! By 5:15 am I got an epidural and it was smooth sailing from there on. The timing was perfect as the contractions were starting to get a little uncomfortable. Around 10:30 am the nurse checked me again because I was feeling a little more pressure. Sure enough I was 9 cm!!!! By 1:15 pm we were pushing and both of my bundles of joy arrived by 3:00 pm.

Adelyn entered the world screaming and letting us know that she arrived at 2:43 pm. It was the most amazing moment of my life. There is nothing that explains the feeling when you hear your own child automatically start breathing and their entire body kicks in to start working on its own. Grant was so great the whole time while pushing. He was helping count with the nurse as I was pushing. I must say we were laughing about 99% of the time. The entire staff that assisted the Doc made the whole process so comfortable and fun! After Adelyn arrived, they worked on shifting Axton around to come heads first. Needless to say after about 10 minutes of trying, he bounced back down and Doc had to start for a breech extraction. He had to break his water then got him by the feet and out my little man came and on my chest he sat. What a moment that I will never forget. The tears of joy and amazement that both of my babies have joined our lives in great health.

Axton had to lay in the incubator for about 36 hours so that his body temperature stayed up. Adelyn ended up having to lay on a billy blanket when we got home due to a little jaundice. Both babes lost a little weight, but made great strides a week and a half later. Here are the birth stats:

Adelyn Maylynn Arnoldink
5 lbs 3 oz
17 1/2 inches
2:43 pm

Axton Grant Arnoldink
5 lbs 2 oz
17 3/4 inches
3:00 pm

I loved every second of delivery and would do it all over in a heartbeat. God creates miracles and I must say that being a mother is the most amazing gift that God can give. The love that I have for both of my babies is untouchable. I can't kiss and stare at them enough :) It was a special weekend for delivery as Grant got to celebrate his first Father's Day with 2 bundles of joy!

Thank you Lord for all your blessings and I continue to pray that you be by our sides as we make decisions in raising our children. Be with Grant and I to continue growing our relationship stronger and stronger with your word.

36 WONDERFUL Weeks

Sooo this is a little past due! I wanted to back date on how everything went :) I have to start out by thanking God for the amazing milestone we made it with the Twins. I am so thankful for all the thoughts and prayers that made this possible. At my 36 week appt, I was still about 2-3 cm and thinned about 80%. We were starting to make a little progress...yippeee! We were scheduled to see the Doc at 37 weeks unless I went into labor on my own. He said if I make it to 37 weeks, they would talk about inducing me....hope for natural labor :) Here is the last pic of my belly at 36 weeks. Grant and I had a little "last" date before the babes arrived.

35 FANTASTIC Weeks

What an amazing accomplish it has been to reach 35 weeks! The babies are still inside growing stronger and stronger each day...yippeee! We had a little scare that sent us to the hospital late Saturday night because I was having horrible cramps in my tummy and back. I started getting cramps at 11:30 pm and decided to continue to lay down for a while. I went upstairs to get in bed to try and get more comfortable. An hour and a half later, I was still in a lot of pain so we drove to the hospital. I was actually having contractions every 4-5 minutes. My doctor was on vacation, so I told the babies not yet...pretty please :) The nurse checked me and I was dilated a little more just to 2 cm. I was still thinned the same, so that is a get thing!

The doctor who was on call prescribed a shot to calm the contractions and pain. They gave it to me in the hip and within 5-10 minutes, I was pretty much sleeping without pain. I know that God was by our side and answered my prayers to keep these little ones inside for a little while longer!

It was a tough weekend for Grant knowing that he had to leave for Detroit on Monday until Thursday. His wonderful parents came over Sunday night to visit and we shared a moment in prayer. Thank you for your amazing words and there is no doubt that God has been with each one of us this week in helping us while we have been apart.

We have an ultrasound on Friday to check the babies growth...so excited to see our little ones :) We will go in to see Doc on Monday for a follow-up appointment. I will then be released from BED REST and be able to move around :) I must say that these weeks have flew by and it was worth every second just to keep our babies inside and growing!

I thank everyone for all your thoughts and prayers. It means more than words can describe to know that so many people are keeping us in mind. God has continued to answer many prayers and has made this journey so amazing. I have loved every second of it and look forward to the journey that lies ahead for our family. I pray that the rest of the pregnancy goes very smooth and that we have healthy strong babies :)

I will update you all early next week!!!

34 GREAT Weeks

Two weeks has already passed since I have been on bed rest. I can't complain, it has actually flew!!! We are still praying to keep the little bundles of joy inside for 13 more days...wow, how weird does that sound...it will be here before we know it! We are super excited and can't believe how fast time has went.

I had a check up this past Monday and it went great! I have not progressed at all since last week, which gives us more time with the babies inside!!! The Doc was rather happy with everything, just thought I needed to gain some weight. I figured I would have put on some pounds with just laying down for the past 2 weeks...haven't gained any. Let me tell you that I do whatever I want and my wonderful Hubby has been giving me plate fulls that I never think I can eat and what do you know...my plate will be clean when i give it back to him...hehe!!! The babies are looking great, just important that they put on some weight in these next few weeks.

I go back in to check up with Doc this Friday....because he is going on vacation Sunday-Friday...not good timing on his part. But then again, the babies are not allowed to come until week 36, which is after he gets back. So it will all work out!

Tonight, Grant was a huge help...he got our stroller put together and looked GREAT as he test drove it around the living room :) He also got our swing and Twins Pack-N-Play set up...time is ticking!!!

Enough rattling on for now! I thank God for all the amazing blessings and all the incredible things he continues to do for Grant and I. His journey has been so wonderful and I look forward to the road he has ahead for us.

Thank you to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers. God has done wonders by answering them all. We love you all and look forward to updating you next week!

33 Weeks

Another week has passed, such a blessing!!! I am 33 weeks and 3 days...the babies are continuing to grow stronger and stronger :) I had a check-up on Tuesday where they had me do another non-stress test. The babies are continuing to look great...i was having some more contractions, but nothing to make them keep me. I think my nerves were sparking them! After the non-stress test, I met with my Doc and he was very happy with the results of the babies, but a little concerned with the contractions from the NST. He continued to tell me to do NOTHING besides lay on my back and relax. We would love to get the babies to 36 weeks which is only 2.5 weeks away!!! He checked me again and I am still 1 cm dilated but my cervix has thinned to 65%. It was 50% last week, so at this rate I might just have 2 more weeks in me :)

I thank you for the continuous prayers and for strong healthy growing babies! God has already blessed us with another week of keeping them inside...he has great plans for us :)

I will update again next week!

Here is a photo from my Holland Babies Shower...don't worry I had the picture snapped while I was up for a bathroom break. I was quick to get back to the couch :)

32 Weeks

This week started out a little different. I woke up Monday morning after having some cramps and a tight tummy. I continued to get up Tuesday morning with a tight tummy just thinking the babies were growing and my tummy was probably stretching. Well Wednesday morning I decided to call the doctor to tell them what I was experiencing. They told me to come in, thought i might be having contractions. I got to the hospital at noon and they hook me up to the stress test to track the babies heart beat and notice that I am having contractions about every 2-3 minutes. The nurse checked me and I was dilated 1 cm. Too early for this to be happening. They started me on an IV and then put me magnesium sulfate which is a muscle relaxer. I was on that all night and then they took me off at noon. Doc checked me in the morning and i was still 1 cm dilated and my cervix was starting to thin. He put me on a blood pressure medicine that has a side effect of slowing/stopping contractions. They did slow down to 4-5 mins, then 6-8 then i was having maybe 4 an hour. By around 6:30 the contractions had pretty much stopped and i was released to go home....on strict bed rest until the babies arrive. I am on an antibiotic and the blood pressure medicine. I pray that they stay in for at least 2.5 to 3 weeks as their lungs are getting ready yet to enter the world.

We also had our scheduled ultra sound that was very refreshing. The babies continue to look great, growing at the same pace and weighing almost 4.5 lbs each :) I have to say that I was overly relieved to have such great nurses taking care of me. God has continued his journey with a little bump in the road, but he answered many prayers while we were in the hospital. Please continue to keep our family and babies in your thoughts and prayers. I thank each one of you for your continued support.

I have a check up on Tuesday, I will make sure to update you after that. My picture taking this week got a little delayed. I will add some on the next update.

Baby Shower at 30 Weeks & the Fabulous Week 31

Wow...how does time seriously go so fast?!? Week 30 ended with my first BABIES Shower in Columbia City. It was a great shower and it was so nice to see a ton of family and friends that I have not seen since the Holidays or before. I got so many great gifts which will become all of great use once our little bundles of joy arrive :) Here are a few pics from the shower:

On to week 31...I am still amazed on how wonderful this pregnancy has been. I pray that it continues and that our babies stay inside for at least 5 more weeks. That would put them at 36 weeks which is a normal time for them to arrive. It is pretty crazy to think that only 5-7 more weeks and we will have 2 blessings from God....we can't be more thankful :)

I had my 31 week check-up appointment yesterday where I measured 35 weeks. Doc is very happy with how everything looks and I am going to be able to continue working as long as I take it easy :) I will have an ultra sound next Thursday and then follow up with my 33 week visit to see how the babies are checking out. Please continue to keep us all in your thoughts and prayers. We have been so blessed and I pray for God's journey to continue. We miss and love you all!!! Enjoy a few belly pics:

28 AND 29 WEEKS!!!!

It has been a busy past two weeks! We just got moved into our new house and have some unpacking to do! It is so nice to be in our own home!!!!

Now to the good stuff....I had an Ultra Sound on April 23rd and it was by far the best one :) The only thing I would have wished for, was Grant to be there. He was traveling and couldn't make it, so his wonderful Mom was along my side :) I filled him in completely with all the details! The babies were very busy the whole time. The little girl is still heads down and the little boy is breech. As the tech did all her measuring, both babies are looking GREAT! The boy is 2 lbs 11 oz and the girl is 2 lbs 9 oz. It is a blessing that they are so close in weight and one is not stealing all the goods. They both measured right on track at 28 weeks. God has blessed up with amazing babies that are both growing at the same rate....wow, how thankful we are :)

So as the ultra sound went one, the little girl had the hiccups...after she got rid of then, the little boy got them. It was so cute to see their heart rate and a bump jump from a hiccup. I got to see the little girl blinking her eyes and the little boy stick out his tongue :) How exciting to feel so connected with these babies...absolutely amazing! The past couple days at work I have felt the little girls foot kicking at my ribs, then a foot will be at the surface of my skin. I love it...it puts a smile on my face knowing that they are both inside being active and growing to be strong little babies :)
My check-up with the Doc this past Monday went Great! I measured at 33 weeks and he was very happy with the growth of both babies. I continued to tell me to take it easy and be careful. I am past the critical point, but we want to keep the babies inside for at least 7 more weeks! I pray that God continues his plan and the babies grow at a healthy rate. Thank you Lord!!!

Overall, I am still feeling great. The belly is growing and it is getting a little harder to breathe when sitting down, but once again...I can't complain for how great this entire pregnancy has been. I pray that God continues to be with both the babies and myself. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers and I look forward to seeing you all soon!

26 & 27 WEEKS

Sorry I missed a few postings. Our Internet has been misbehaving...so here I go :) I had my glucose testing and it was not as bad as people make it sound. I had to drink this orange flavored drink that tested like really flat thick pop. I drank it fast and didn't turn back! After doing that, I had my 26 week check-up. My body and the babies are still on track and doing great. I measured at 31.5 weeks, which is pretty normal due to the two little ones in there :) It is funny...I don't look that much further along, Doc says the 6'1" frame def helps :) We scheduled my next ultra sound and then headed back down to the lab to get blood drawn for the glucose test. You had to sit for an hour before drawing the blood. It went great, I looked at the wall and the session went well :) Needles are a bit of a weakness for my stomach! Needless to say, I never heard from my Doc...so no news is GOOD news...I passed the test!!!!

As the weekend went on, Grant and I found 2 cribs that we purchased...a white one for the little Girl and a cherry one for the little Boy. One more thing to cross off our list...yippeee!

As for the start of week 27...things are still going great! I would say my energy is starting to dwindle down a little compared to majority of my 2nd tri-mester. Sleeping at night is getting a little uncomfortable. Just a lot of tossing and turning...so when it is time to get up in the morning, I am ready :) I can't complain though...I still feel wonderful and I am loving every minute of carrying these 2 little precious bundles of JOY! They have both been pretty busy in there...quite the active babies we have on our hands :) Grant has got to feel them move several times! It is so amazing to feel them moving...no words describe the feeling!

I have an ultra sound on April 23rd and then a follow-up appointment on the 27th for my 29 week appointment. WOW...can you say time is flying...or time flies when your having FUN! This is just amazing to think that God has blessed Grant and I with 2 babies...a boy and a girl! I cannot thank him enough for how wonderful this pregnancy has been for me and for being by my side this whole time. I pray that God continues to keep us on this fantastic path and that our babies are strong and healthy when the enter this world that will fill them with LOVE.

Thank you to each one of you who continue to pray and keep us in your thoughts! I will be updating you very soon...I promise!

PS...Grant and I just closed today on our new Home and we get possession this Friday. Thank you God for this blessing and be with us as we pack up, move and unpack :)

25 TERRIFIC Weeks

How do the weeks fly sooo fast?!? We have come upon 25 weeks and everything is still going wonderful! My belly has continued to grow and I am still feeling great :) My back has started to bother me a little bit, but I really can't complain. I am thankful that God has continued to bless the Babies and I :) I pray that he stays along our side and blesses these Babies with healthy nutrition and keep them inside Mommy until it is time to arrive around 36 weeks :) My experience has been amazing and I couldn't be more thankful for this miracle that has happened to Grant and I.

We have our 26 week appointment this Friday. I have the glucose testing to make sure that I do not have gestational diabetes (this is a normal routine for pregnancy). Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that my sugar level is normal and that the babies are still on track at 26 weeks :) I am interested to see what I measure at....last time my belly size was 4 weeks ahead of schedule...def 2 babies in there!!!

Hope all is well with everyone and I will update you after our appointment this week! Have a wonderful week and lots of love to you all :)

24 Weeks and LOVING it!!!

So I did skip a week...thought I would update after our 2 appointments that we had this week :) We have our ultrasound on Wednesday...it went great! Our baby girl is heads down and our little boys is heads up. There is still plenty of time for him to turn which means I will be able to have a vaginal birth. I pray that both the babies are stress free and in the correct position and we will be good to go the "v" way.

We just got home from our doctor check-up and both babies measured up at 24 weeks...yippeee! They are both growing at the same rate and right on track...thank you God :) On the other hand, I measured up at 28 weeks...tell you how fast I have grown and how having 2 babies inside make a big difference. Doc said that each time I will be further along in measuring up, which is perfectly normal for TWINS!!!

I am advised to take it easy from here on due to the possibility of contractions happening with a multiple pregnancy. I am allowed to take short & slow walks...pretty much my limit. I pray that everything continues to go great and that the babies continue to grow at the same pace. God has blessed us thus far and I have Faith that he will continue to be by our sides.

We are getting more and more excited as time continues to fly! We will be moving into our new home April 24th, so lots to keep us busy!!! I miss you all and can't wait to see you soon :) Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the most recent BABIES BUMP!!!

22 WONDERFUL Weeks

Hello to you all! I am now a little over 22 weeks and still feeling GREAT :) It seems that My BABIES Bump is popping out more and more everyday, I LOVE it!!! We did some TWINS registering yesterday at Target and Babies R Us...it was a long day, but got a lot done. Grant and I had so much fun picking out all the things we are going to be needing. We continue to pray everyday for Healthy babies and that we can be the BEST parents that God has intended for us. Thank you for all your continuous prayers :)

As for the HOUSE update...we made an offer last Saturday and.........they accepted it Monday evening! We are so thrilled and excited to know that we have a huge load off our shoulders and that we will be in a "home" before the TWINS arrive :) We take possession April 24th and will have plenty to keep us busy up until that point and beyond!

Other than that, we are all doing wonderful and look forward to seeing everyone soon! We have an Ultra Sound April 25th and then our Doc Appt follows-up on the 27th. Please continue to keep healthy babies and pregnancy in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you God for this amazing Blessing!

21 Weeks

Everything is going GREAT! I can't believe how fast time is going...the weeks are flying! The TWINS are moving more and more everyday :) It is such an amazing feeling and the best part is that Grant has got to feel the BABIES more too! I am feeling wonderful...full of energy and loving every minute of carrying these TWINS :)

There are still those random moments....Grant said today, "Chas...we are having 2 babies...TWINS"...we both get the biggest smile and share a few chuckles together! How excited we are :)

Today was a little tiring...we went house shopping...looked at 3, loved 1 and of course they just accepted an offer Thursday. The other 2 were asking too much for what we would be getting. Lots of updating...yuck! So we decided to write an offer on one that we have had our eye on for a long time. We decided to low-ball them and see what their reaction is...never know! We should find something out by Monday evening....cross your fingers for us!!!

Hope all is well with everyone and can't wait to see you! Please continue to keep these precious BABIES and the rest of my pregnancy in your thoughts and prayers :) We thank God everyday for the wonderful blessing of allowing us to carry two babies and look forward to loving them sooo much! Much love :)

Doc Check-up at 20 Weeks

We had our first Doctor check-up since finding out that we are having TWINS! It went very very good. My Doctor was rather surprised when he looked at my file and had to take double takes at all the paperwork and notes. He was amazed that I have been and continue to measure up to carrying a single baby, rather than twins. He said....it must be your height and YES I do have the extra room to carry :) I am right on track at 20 weeks and all checked out great...

Some info we learned...I will start to have an ultrasound every month from now on and then start having check-ups every 2 weeks after our next appointment in 4 weeks. The keep a close eye on the growth of Twins; making sure the amniotic fluids and gestational sacks are at the levels where they should be. They check the growth of each Twin to make sure they are at the same rate and one is not stealing all the nutrients.

Twin pregnancies are normally pre-term pregnancies, so having TWINS at 36 weeks is very common. You know what that means....we have lots to keep us busy until June, which is a great thing :)

We have started house shopping, hoping to find something before the TWINS arrive. All is going great and we are sooooo excited to meet these two little blessings that will enter our lives!

Hope all is well with each one of you and we look forward to posting the next TWINS update! Here are are few photo's of the growing Babies Bump at 20 Weeks :)

More on the TWINS!!!

Things are going great today, still letting our exciting news sink in! I have felt the BABIES move more today than any day. They were waiting until I heard the news, now they are moving around. It is absolutely amazing to know that God has blessed us with 2 babies that look to be very healthy and that he has given us a boy and a girl. I pray that God continues to be with these growing babies and with me throughout the rest of pregnancy. I have my next Dr's appointment next Friday, so I will find out more info about my due date and the TWINS :)

Here are some ultrasound pics, so that everyone knows that we are have 2 babies!!! Notice on each pic that it has a description and it labels Baby A (Girl) and Baby B (Boy). Enjoy!!!

18 weeks

This week has been wonderful...I have started to feel the baby move! It has been the most amazing feeling knowing that this little miracle has enough strength to start making movements strong enough for mommy to feel! Most of the movements have been in the morning when I am ready to wake up. I love to just lay there and take in the moments of this little bundle of joy making butterfly movements. It is just unbelievable :)

We got spoiled with a beautiful day of weather, so I took Miss Daisy for a nice long walk. On the flip side, they are calling for snow again....yuck!!!

The count down is on...one week from today and we get to start buying for our little one. It could be dangerous....but control will be important..haha! There will be no worry of how quickly you will all find out....the announcement will be everywhere!!!! We pray for a healthy baby and we are so excited to fill it's heart with LOVE.

Miss you all!!!

Exciting News...Baby "A" is on its way!!!

I am going to start writing every week to update you all on the journey of my pregnancy :) It has been so wonderful thus far and I pray that it continues. I am now 17 weeks and have loved every minute of the experience. We found out that I was expecting on November 6. I smiled from ear to ear filled with joy and excitement. Grant is so excited and I know that he is going to be the "best" dad ever (hint hint...look at our little Princess Daisy).

Going back a few months...we got to hear the heart beat on December 31st. It made the pregnancy soooo real. Grant said, it sounds like a basketball bouncing really fast and close to the ground. The Doc said everything looked great and we were right on track.

Next appointment was January 30th and we listened to the heartbeat again....this time much slower. The baby is growing and not having to work so hard. Once again, everything checked out great. I have gained 3 lbs since my first appt. I am still able to fit into most of my pants...a few are a little uncomfortable. My the end of the month, I might need some stretchy pants...hehe!

Two weeks from today we will get to find out the sex of our little bundle of joy! We both want to know so that we can be prepared as much as possible. It will be Grant's Birthday, so a special day all together!

I hope everyone is doing great and we miss each one of you sooo much!
